GLOWSTICKGO / YOUR PRIVACY
Your glow.
Your privacy.
Privacy Policy · Effective October 4, 2026
This policy explains how information is handled when you use the GlowStickGo app for iPhone and iPad, including Color Target camera sampling, custom and saved colors, Beat Detect, advertising, consent choices, and the Full Version purchase.
Camera colors and live beat audio are processed locally.
Camera and microphone permissions are optional.
Contact us about privacy or an inappropriate ad.
Camera and Color Target
Color Target uses the rear camera to sample a color from something around you and apply it to your glow stick. GlowStickGo requests camera permission when you open Color Target and uses the camera only while that feature is open and permission is granted. Closing Color Target stops the camera session.
The live camera preview is processed locally on your device to read color values. Capture This Color selects a color value; it does not take or save a photograph. GlowStickGo does not record or store camera photos or video, upload camera images, or share camera frames with us or advertising services. Color Target does not access your photo library.
Camera permission is optional. You can use the manual Custom Color picker and other glow modes without it, and change permission in Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera → GlowStickGo. See Apple’s camera and microphone permission guide.
Custom and saved colors
When you save a manually chosen or camera-sampled color to My Colors, GlowStickGo stores its red, green, and blue values, its display name, and an app-generated identifier in local app settings on your device. A saved color contains no camera image. The app does not send these saved color entries to us or advertising services.
Saved colors remain available between app sessions until you delete them from My Colors or remove the app’s local data. Choosing Use Color applies a sampled color without adding it to My Colors.
Microphone and Beat Detect
GlowStickGo uses the microphone only when you start Beat Detect and grant microphone permission. Audio is processed locally on your device to measure sound levels and make the glow respond. GlowStickGo does not record or save this audio, and does not send it to us or to advertising services.
You can stop listening in the app or revoke microphone access in your device’s Settings. Other glow modes do not require microphone access.
Advertising and consent
GlowStickGo uses Google AdMob to display a banner in the free version and may request interstitial ads. A rewarded ad is offered only if you choose to watch it to try a selected color or effect for the current app session; it does not grant a permanent Full Version purchase or remove ads. Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) manages consent messages and privacy choices where applicable.
Google and its advertising partners may process device identifiers, advertising identifiers when available and permitted, IP addresses, approximate location inferred from IP addresses, ad views and interactions, app usage, crash and performance diagnostics, and consent information. This information may be used to deliver and measure ads, prevent fraud, maintain services, and remember privacy choices. The information processed depends on your settings, consent, region, and the services involved.
If advertising is available, iOS may ask whether you allow GlowStickGo to track activity across other companies’ apps and websites. If you decline, the app requests non-personalized treatment for Google ads. You can continue using the free glow stick without allowing tracking, and you can change this iOS permission in Settings.
When available, use Privacy Choices in the app to review or change your advertising preferences. Declining personalized advertising does not necessarily prevent processing needed to provide other ads, maintain security, or honor your choices.
See the Google Privacy Policy and Google Mobile Ads data disclosure for more information.
House advertisements and ad reports
The app also downloads a General Audiences catalog and promotional artwork from ads.wadesisco.com. Artwork and a rotation position are saved locally to allow offline display. House-ad selection uses the current app and rotation position, not a personal advertising profile. Full Version disables ad presentation.
Network requests expose your IP address and technical request information to the hosting service. The service may retain access logs for operation and security. Contact us about hosting-log retention or privacy requests; this policy does not promise that hosting logs are absent.
The Report inappropriate ad option prepares an email to glowie@glowstickgo.com containing the ad name, identifier, destination, and the concern you choose to provide. Nothing is emailed until you send it. Your email provider processes the message, and we receive your email address and report content to investigate and respond. Please do not include sensitive personal information.
Full Version purchase and restore
GlowStickGo uses Apple StoreKit for the one-time Full Version in-app purchase and Restore Purchases. Apple processes the purchase. The app uses verified transaction and entitlement information to determine whether Full Version is unlocked and to restore that access.
Apple may process account, device, purchase, payment, and diagnostic information under its own policies. GlowStickGo does not receive your payment card details. See App Store & Privacy.
Third-party services
Google, Apple, and other providers involved in advertising, consent, and purchases handle information under their own privacy policies. Their retention periods, processing locations, and privacy controls may differ. Camera color sampling and Beat Detect audio are processed locally as described above; advertising, consent, and purchase services may still process the information described in their respective sections.
Your choices and requests
- Control camera permission in your device’s Settings and close Color Target to stop camera sampling.
- Delete saved colors from My Colors in the app.
- Control microphone permission in your device’s Settings and stop Beat Detect listening in the app.
- Review advertising consent through Privacy Choices when the app makes that option available.
- Use Apple’s account and privacy controls for information Apple handles, and Google’s privacy controls for information Google handles.
- Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information or object to certain uses. Use the relevant provider’s privacy controls and request channels for information that provider handles.
Deleting the app does not automatically delete purchase records or information retained by Apple, Google, or other service providers. Requests concerning those records may need to be made to the relevant provider.
